Deep Impact mirror mount

A mirror mount with a bit of remnant glass from Deep Impact’s high-resolution imager, what was to be the largest telescope mirror ever to leave Earth orbit. Luckily, they had a replacement. (Courtesy Ball Aerospace)

“When I make a mistake, it’s a beaut!”
— Fiorello Henry La Guardia

And he still got an airport named after him. I have lesser aspirations, but do make beauts of mistakes. Despite many rounds of editing by many people, From Jars to the Stars: How Ball Came to Build a Comet-Hunting Machine went to press with a few errors, for which I take full responsibility. Most of these don’t apply to the e-book editions, which have in-line photo captions and were corrected prior to posting at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, iTunes and elsewhere. Rather than pulp the press run and slay more trees, we set the record straight below. If you happen to find more, let me know we’ll clean it up for the next edition.
